Superlearning Necessity
Superlearning is a Necessity
Why it is Important to Unlock Your Genius
What is a Superlearner?
Being a successful learner--one who engages with information, filters out the junk and integrates what is useful and accurate--is a necessity in the age where a growing percentage of what we learned about the world this year will be obsolete next year. The future belongs to learners. Learners see the big picture, notice patterns, apply principles, and show flexibility and strength of mind by evaluating ideas before agreeing to their validity.
Stay Ahead of the Pack (and Out of the Race)
These days, knowledge is the most valuable commodity around. Knowledge is all over the place. But knowledge directed intelligently for the achievement of a desired aim, is Power. Knowing 'stuff' is not the point, as much of what you know will be out of date and irrelevant in a few years; rather, the process of learning how to learn is of the highest value.
Every Experience Adds to Your Mind's Power
Each subject you study makes a contribution to your training and exercises (and thus strengthens) a different although related intelligence:
"Learning math, history, chemistry, music, and art all help train a different intelligence. You need to develop all your intelligences [and create some new ones..] if you are going to take full advantage of your brain's almost unlimited capacity to learn. Just as an athlete uses different approaches to improve various areas of his or her physical capabilities--running to develop aerobic capacity, weight training to increase muscle strength, stretching to enhance flexibility--the superlearner must become comfortable with developing many intelligences, not just the dominant one or two with which he or she feels comfortable." (Kevin Paul, MA)
Kevin Paul continues,
"Teaching yourself how to learn is the most valuable skill you can learn today. It's no longer enough to have the attitude that your learning days are over at high school graduation or when you have your bachelor's degree. To be successful in a world where knowledge is the key, you must be skilled and fluent in acquiring knowledge and making it a part of you. This will be a continual process. Learn to learn, and love it, or you will fall behind and struggle all your life."
